HTC has named Lorain Wong as its new Vice President of Global PR, Corporate and Internal Corporations. Lorain has impeccable experience for the job in hand, joining HTC from the Chinese network service provider Pacnet, and she has a long line of previous senior experience.

May was a great month for HTC, and more specifically its flagship HTC One. According to a report from CitiGroup Global Markets, the company’s sales doubled from April to May, with a total of 1.2 million units sold. However, that could all change by July 2013.

Earlier this week, we heard that the Sony Xperia Z would be the latest device to get a “Google Edition” tag and begin shipping with a stock Android experience free from third-party tweaks, and now that rumor has been “confirmed” by a separate set of sources.

U.S. T-Mobile customers got a nice surprise yesterday, as the HTC One became available to purchase in T-Mobile stores nationwide. This announcement followed a limited roll out of the HTC One in only 300 stores last month, which we believe was due to component supply issues.

There was a time when the idea of seeing the likes of Samsung and HTC offering us “Google Edition” devices free from their own user interfaces seemed crazy. Now it’s almost becoming the norm for the latest flagships. It began with the Galaxy S4 at Google I/O last month, and then Android head Sundar Pinchai announced the HTC One Google Edition at D11 last week.

Now a rumor claims that we’ll get a Sony Xperia Z with stock Android next month.
