The President of HTC America, Jason Mackenzie, has officially revealed on Twitter that the company’s former flagship smartphone of 2013, the HTC One (M7), is scheduled to receive the much-anticipated Sense 6 update before the end of May, 2014. Unfortunately, the above deadline is currently only for unlocked and carrier-branded variants of the smartphone located in the United States and Canada — so European folk are in the dark for now.

HTC One Android 4.4

Some users over at the XDA Forums are reportedly facing issues with the audio of their HTC One (M7) while recording videos. It is said that the video recorder app only records audio from the left channel, making the video inaudible. The issue seems to have surfaced after the Android 4.4.2 update was rolled out to the smartphone with the software version 4.19.401.11.

The HTC One (M8) comes with quite a few software gimmicks and novelties including Motion launch gestures. These gestures allow users to directly launch the camera or even wake it up by simply double tapping on the screen even when the device is sleeping, However, unlike the LG G2, the M8 does not allow users to put it to sleep by double tapping on the screen, which means they have to press the awkwardly located power button on the top.

HTC-One-M8-Dot-View

HTC announced its latest flagship smartphone, the One (M8) in the United States last Tuesday, March 25, and went on sale at several major operators soon after the official press conference. Although the manufacturer showed off a bunch of new accessories including the new Dot View case during the press-only event, customers were disappointed when they headed down to their local electronics store, only to find that they had not yet been released.

Fortunately, HTC has today announced that the Dot View case for the One (M8) is now available to purchase from both its online store and from several independent retailers spread across the United States. The case is currently on sale for $49.99 which seems a little steep and is only available in the Warm Black colorway for now, so if you’re hoping to get your hands on one of the 5 other colors, you’ll have to wait a little while longer.
