LG’s flagship G3 will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update later this quarter, the South Korean company has confirmed. Last year’s G2 will also get the same treatment, but it will have to wait until “a later date.”

Amazon is looking to build upon the success of Fire TV with a new $39 Fire TV Stick that is taking on the Google Chromecast. It’s more powerful than rival devices, and it supports a vast selection of streaming services — including Amazon’s own Prime Instant Video. Nest has acquired Revolv, the Colarado-based startup which allowed users to control their smart home devices from a single interface using their smartphone.

No price has yet been announced for the purchase, which follows Nest’s $555 million Dropcam purchase back in June, and Nest’s own acquisition by Google for a massive $3.2 billion earlier this year.

Samsung could be rolling out its first Android 5.0 Lollipop updates by December, say sources familiar with the company’s plans — and the flagship Galaxy S5 will be the first to get one. The release will feature a revamped TouchWiz interface that will better suit Google’s new Material Design guidelines.
