BlackBerry-Messenger-icon

Google has pulled a fake BlackBerry Messenger app from Google Play after it was downloaded by over 100,000 users who thought it was the real thing. The app was called “blackberry messenger bbm,” and it was created by a developer called “RIM.” But all it did was install icons, bookmarks, and more from advertising network StartApp.

A lot was unveiled during Google I/O 2013, including a new section of Google Play primarily designed for education apps. Google Play for Education is a program designed to get Nexus tablets into education facilities and provide a dedicated app store offering education-based apps to fill those tablets with.

Google has just launched its Google Play gifts cards in Germany and France as it expands availability in Europe. The only supported regions previously were the United States and the United Kingdom.

iOS-adoption

Apple has begun charting iOS adoption figures to help developers establish the percentage of users running different versions of iOS. Google has been doing the same thing for Android developers for some time, and Apple’s chart only highlights the massive difference in fragmentation between the two platforms.

Dolphin-Android

Dolphin, a popular third-party browser for Android, just got another big update that makes several improvements and introduces new features. In addition to a new look, the app now boasts a customizable home screen with over 60 speed dial slots, a new Web App Store, Flash support, and more.
