Claims that Motorola is planning a budget version of the Moto X looked stronger last week when an upcoming magazine containing details of the “Moto G” was leaked online. And now Motorola has all but confirmed the device by teasing a Moto G unveiling for November 13.

Google chairman Eric Schmidt has hit out at the National Security Agency (NSA) over claims that it has spied on Google’s data centers to gain information about its users. Schmidt told The Wall Street Journal that the allegations are “outrageous” and potentially illegal if true.

A mysterious new Nexus tablet, believed to be a Nexus 8, has been spotted on the official Android.com website. The discovery comes after Google updated the page for its new Android 4.4 KitKat release last week, but it seems unlikely this was an accidental leak.

Google upset Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners last week when it announced that the two-year-old device would not be supported by its latest Android 4.4 KitKat release, but as is often the case in the Android community, third-party developers have stepped in to lend a hand. Just days after the update got its public release alongside the Nexus 5, an unofficial ROM for the Galaxy Nexus is already available.
