Google, today, finally opened up the Chromecast platform and released the final version of Google Cast SDK for developers, allowing them to take advantage of its $35 HDMI media streamer. Google had released Chromecast in September last year with a preview SDK and has, since then, taken its own sweet time in opening up the platform to developers.

After Android 4.4.2 KitKat was released by Google, HTC was quick to announce that it would update the carrier variants of the One in the US to KitKat within 90 days. However, a few days ago the company announced that it would be missing its self-imposed deadline as the update has been delayed for at least a couple of weeks.

Now, in a surprising turn of events, Sprint has announced that One owners in the United States can manually pull the KitKat update from their servers with a wider roll-out beginning from 11th February.

A leaked press render for the upcoming red variant of Google’s flagship smartphone, the Nexus 5, has now been posted on Twitter just a couple of days after the image of an internal Sprint document appeared online revealing that the company was preparing to launch the red colored handset on February 4.

The beta version of the popular note-taking application, Evernote, has received quite a beefy update on the Google Play Store. This upgrade brings some great new features, one of which being the ability to store and share handwritten notes that you’ve created on either your Android-powered smartphone or tablet.

Google released five simple games for Glass, the company’s buzz-worthy wearable computing device.

In a post on the Glass Developers blog, a spokesperson wrote, “We hacked together five simple games that experiment with the unique features of Glass and demonstrate some of the possibilities for gaming.”

With Tennis, Balance, Clay Shooter, Matcher, and Shape Splitter, Google is making a play for the profitable mobile game market, one that regularly outpaces both traditional gaming revenue as well as other forms of media.
