LG G2 Snap

LG, today, uploaded a video on YouTube showing the speed difference of the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat update to the current Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean build on the LG G2. The video compares the performance of two G2s across a bunch of day-to-day tasks including web browsing, Knock On and more.

At the beginning of this month, Sprint became the first carrier in the United States to roll out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its variant of the HTC One. Joining it today is the T-Mobile’s HTC One, whose Sense 5.5/KitKat update was certified by the carrier just a a few hours ago.

Google was willing to trump Facebook’s $19 billion offer to buy mobile messaging service WhatsApp, new reports suggest.

While it is well known that Google was interested in acquiring WhatsApp, it was previously thought that the company was only willing to offer $10 billion. Not so, according to The Information, which claims to have spoken with three people involved in the negotiations between the two parties.

Oppo continues to tease us with what’s rumored to be the company’s next high-end Android-powered smartphone, the Find 7. Earlier today, the OEM posted an image of a space-centric eclipse on its Weibo account, with a render of the device embedded in the picture, accompanied by the text; ‘Removable battery cover’.

By now I’m sure you’ve heard that Facebook has acquired WhatsApp for a ridiculous $19 billion, but it wasn’t the only Silicon Valley giant that was willing to stump up silly stacks of cash for the cross-platform messaging service. Sources say Google was also interested, but it only offered $10 billion.
