CMApps-Galaxy-S5

Want a taste of CyanogenMod without having to root or flash custom ROMs? Now you can, thanks to CMApps, a free download that puts a bunch of CyanogenMod apps on any Android. The package includes CyanogenMod’s built-in music player, clock widget, sound manager and more — and it’s available now in Google Play.

Glass

Google Glass is immensely difficult to get hold of right now. In fact, you have little to no chance of bagging the device if you live outside of the U.S. and don’t have a spare $1,500. But thanks to a new Kickstarter campaign, you can now become a Google Glass owner for just $33.

You’ll have to act quickly, though, because it’s almost certainly going to get pulled by Google. And yes, there is a catch.

Apple-vs-Motorola

In a surprising move, Apple and Google have decided to drop all lawsuits charges against each other as reported by the Wall Street Journal, ending a long court-room battle. The agreement contains all of Apple’s patent battles against Motorola Mobility, which Google inherited when it purchased the company a couple of years ago.

Galaxy-S5-Google-Play-Edition

There are lots of things I love about the Galaxy S5, but one thing that lets it down is its TouchWiz software. Samsung bakes in so many tweaks and modifications that it’s noticeably slower than stock Android, and filled to the brim with stuff (crap) no one ever wants or needs.

Fortunately, that won’t be the case with the Google Play Edition device, which will run pure Android 4.4 KitKat exactly as Google intended. And after picking up its Bluetooth SIG certificate today, it should be too long before this device hits the Play Store.

Google is currently in the process of quietly rolling out an update for its official Search application via the Play Store. Once updated, users will receive reminders when their bills are due, how much they need to pay, and, finally, how much they owe altogether.
