Google has sent out an email to all its Wallet users informing them that support for NFC redemption of gift and loyalty cards will end on August 21, 2013. So, if you have a balance remaining on your gift cards (stored within Wallet), you will need to spend it using the tap-to-pay functionality before the cut off date.

Just days after Google announced the “Google experience” edition of the HTC One for $599, HTC went ahead and increased its price of the HTC One from $575 to $599 to match Google’s. The company has now made the price hike a little more bearable by throwing in a $25 Google Play gift card with every purchase.

Google updated its Google Play support pages over the weekend, and it added mentions of Google Play gift cards for the United Kingdom. At the time, however, they were only on sale in the U.S., and they couldn’t be found on the other side of the Atlantic.

But today that’s all changed — Google Play gift cards are now available from retailers in the U.K.

Google first introduced its Google Play gift cards to the United States back in August 2012, but almost eight months later, the company is yet to roll them out to other markets. According to a new Google Play support page, however, that’s about to change, and Android users in the United Kingdom should expect to see them soon.
