Google first introduced its Google Play gift cards to the United States back in August 2012, but almost eight months later, the company is yet to roll them out to other markets. According to a new Google Play support page, however, that’s about to change, and Android users in the United Kingdom should expect to see them soon.

Mentions of Google Play gift cards for the U.K. have popped up in a number of places since they launched last year — including retailer databases. But they haven’t yet been made available to purchase. It appears Google may be preparing itself for that, however, with a new update to its Google Play support pages.

As you can see from the screenshot below, Google mentions that Google Play gift cards are available in the U.K., in £10, £25, and £50 denominations. Further down the page, the company also mentions that the maximum account balance in the U.K. is £2,000.

The cards are yet to appear in U.K. stores, however, and it’s unclear when they will arrive, unfortunately. But we’re expecting the move to happen soon. It would appear Google has updated its support page in preparation, so we should see the rollout imminently.

Maybe in time for Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 10.
