minceraft-pe-1

When Minecraft Pocket Edition first launched, it wasn’t anything like the desktop (and now Xbox 360) versions; it was a neutered stub of a game. But with each update, the PE version gets more and more awesome as it adds the cool features of its big brothers. This update brings wearable armor, craftable signs, new renewable resources in the form of baby livestock and makes gravel and sand follow the rules of gravity.

Unfortunately, there might also be a bug that destroys your entire world.

Yes, you did it your way.

Yes, you did it your way.

So, I hear there’s a big football game coming up next week. The Superbowl is something even us non-sports-watching geeks know about, so this new card game from DeNA, the Japanese social gaming company that purchased gaming giant, ngmoco, a while back looks to be a timely release.

DOTBattle

DeNA, the social gaming company that now owns ngmoco, just launched a new, free, 8-bit retro role-playing game, D.O.T. Defender of Texel, to the iTunes App Store and the Google Play store.

Texel is a world made of dots, at the end of a wormhole, waiting for you to jump in and save the world. The battles are turn-based, and you choose who will fight each battle by swiping across a grid of characters to place your fighters on the battle field.

Kings Bounty

Nival, a Russian games developer, today announced that its popular turn-based strategy game, King’s Bounty: Legions, is available on the Google Play store. This is the first time a game from this serieis, previously on Facebook and iOS, has come to the Android app store. The game will also be coming to Mac OS and Kindle Fire soon.

Blockbuster-Android

Have you ever driven down to Blockbuster just to find that the movie you wanted to see wasn’t in stock. Those wasted journeys can now become a thing of the past, thanks to Blockbuster’s new Android app. Find the movie you want to see, and the app will tell you whether your local Blockbuster store has it.
