Google appears to be preparing a big Google Play promotion to celebrate the store’s second anniversary. Users in Australia report that books, games, magazines, and movies have been reduced to as little as AU$0.99 — while others like FIFA 14 have gone completely free.

Google has taken to its official Twitter account to announced that its second-generation wireless charger for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) is now available from the Play Store in Australia, India, Japan and Korea.

Today, Google officially updated its Play Store support page, to notify consumers that it will soon be launching its Google Play gift cards in Japan with ¥1500 ($15), ¥3,000 ($29), ¥5,000 ($49), ¥10,000 ($97), ¥15,000 ($146) and astonishingly ¥20,000 ($195) denominations.

Two weeks ago, Amazon U.S. officially announced that it has started shipping Google’s latest handset-to-TV dongle, the Chromecast, to the U.K. and Australia, and now reports are flying in suggesting that the team at Mountain View have made the official Chromecast for Android app available to download internationally.

Having already gone on sale in the United States, and been made available to pre-order in the U.K., those in Australia can now place their orders for the device starting today. Prices start at AU$299 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, and retailer PLE Computers says the device is “due to arrive late August.”
