By now you may have heard about the GPS issues plaguing the Transformer Prime. ASUS has been working diligently to improve signal strength and have gone as far as to offer UK owners full refunds if they remain unsatisfied. It seems ASUS is at it again, releasing yet another OTA (over the air) update which focuses on GPS. Update 9.4.2.11 started rolling out today and although we haven’t seen an official changelog yet, it does update the GPS software.

ASUS sent the Android community into a frenzy when they announced they would be releasing the world’s first quad-core Tegra 3 Android tablet. Pre-orders lasted minutes, stock sold out in hours, and they even managed to update it to Ice Cream Sandwich already. Everything about the Transformer Prime seemed perfect, that was until people began using it for GPS. Apparently the metal unibody casing of the Transformer Prime was affecting the GPS signal and hindering performance. This lead to ASUS formally apologizing and removing GPS from the list of features on the Prime’s specification sheet, as well as all marketing material.

ASUS has definitely been in the good graces of many Android fans lately. They’ve been releasing industry leading tablets, fast updates, and even have price point pegged with their $250 quad-core tablet announcement. ASUS is so far ahead of the Android tablet game, that not even Google can keep up. That’s right, ASUS is set to deliver Android 4.0 to patient OG Transformer users, they’re simply waiting on Google.

This will probably be the best news to come out of CES for ASUS Transformer Prime owners. During the NVIDIA CES event, CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced that Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) would be made available tonight, and is in fact rolling out now. I’m sure you’ll all be up checking your device for the rest of the night so I won’t bother you and your precious anymore than I have to. Cheers!

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — It doesn’t yet have a name (Asus Eee Pad MeMO ME370T) but it does have a price point. Asus just announced a 7-inch tablet based on NVidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 chip and running Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich.

That’s an Android Fire price point but a boatload more horsepower. The Tegra 3 already runs Asus’s Transformer Prime tablet/PC, which is getting good reviews for performance.

Asus also announced an Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Transformer Prime, claiming it’s the first tablet to run the latest version of Google’s OS.
