Google TV will be getting OnLive gaming support very soon, and in preparation of this monumental event, users can now start spectating these live games via the OnLive Viewer app. OnLive is a popular cloud gaming service that streams high-end console video games straight to your screen without the need for high-end hardware. Cloud based gaming is considered by many to be the future of gaming and will free gamers from hardware restraints and allow for a truly unified mobile gaming experience across various platforms. It’s only fitting that the OnLive service be coming to Google TV, as GTV has been working hard on bringing on-demand multimedia to your TV, and what better addition than on-demand gaming.


Popular video sharing service Vimeo finally released an official app for Android. Announced yesterday, the Vimeo app was a sigh of relief for the many Android users who frequent the service. Here’s some good news for our friends across the Atlantic: Netflix is now available in the UK and Ireland. While it’s not a complete European launch, as some would have liked to see, it is a step in the right direction. Starting today, anyone looking to sign up for Netflix in the UK or Ireland, will be able to try it out free for one-month. Afterwards, users will be charged £5.99 or €6.99 to continue their streaming service. Netflix is one of the largest TV and movie streaming service around and allows users to view their favorite shows and movies from a variety of platforms such as: major game consoles, smart TVs, Blu-ray players, tablets, and mobile phones, as well as Mac and PC-based computers.


Today Qualcomm announced its plans to launch the Snapdragon GameCommand App on opening day at CES. The Snapdragon GameCommand app is similar to the Tegra Zone, which will enable users to easily access over 100 Snapdragon™ GamePack featured games. I’ve never really been a fan of the whole processor specific gaming model, but as long as it’s a reality, we mine as well have an easy way to find the games.
