It’s been nine months since Madfinger Games teased a multiplayer version of its hit title ShadowGun. An early build of the game was demoed at CES back in January along with a YouTube video showing off some in-game footage. A few lucky CES attendees received some hands-on with the game and MadFinger Games claimed a Q1 launch. Well, Q1 has long since passed with no sign or word on the future of ShadowGun Deadzone. That was until today.

Google Play has surpassed an astounding 25 billion app downloads and with Google being the kind of company that enjoys a good celebration, they’ve gone ahead an lined up 5 days worth of $0.25 apps. These discounted apps aren’t just a pile of random garbage either. Some of the Google Play’s top and most recent apps are being offered for a mere quarter — I’d say that’s enough to get anyone searching between their couch cushions for a bit of spare change.

Gameloft is doing what it does best: teasing its upcoming titles. Next on their list is Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour and they’ve released quite the reveal trailer for us to drool over. Being released for Android and iOS this fall, the next installation in the Modern Combat series looks just as intense as the 3rd and chock full of guns, ammo and bloodshed.

NimbleBit’s pixelated airline sim has flown itself into the Play store courtesy of Mobage. This tiny time consumer took iOS by storm, amassing more than 2.4 million downloads in 3 months and earning an Editor’s Choice award. This fully featured 8-bit sim is free to download on the Play store and puts users in control of growing their own fleet of planes across 250 cities.

Our beloved Google Play has joined the Twittersphere and they’re ready to tweet all the great promotions, content and updates they can fit into 140 characters. Their first tweet was the customary “Hello world” you see above but we’re assuming they will be extending all their usual news from Google+/newsletters over to Twitter soon.
