Honami-camera-app

Sony’s working on a new flagship smartphone codenamed the “Honami,” and although the Japanese company has managed to keep the handset itself under wraps, it hasn’t been able to stop its software from leaking into the wild.

A system dump from a Canadian carrier has revealed many of the handset’s internals, while its Camera app has already been ported to the latest Xperia devices.

LG has confirmed that it will use Qualcomm’s latest high-end Snapdragon 800 processor in its next Optimus smartphone. The Snapdragon 800 is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 600, which is currently shipping inside the latest flagship smartphones, including the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Asus has today announced its latest Transformer Pad Infinity slate at Computex 2013 in Taipei, and boy is it a beast. Not only does it carry NVIDIA’s latest Tegra 4 processor — which has a 72-core GeForce GPU — but it also has a 10.1-inch display with the same 2560×1600 resolution as the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro.

That’s a whopping 299 pixels-per-inch.

ZTE has teamed up with NVIDIA to deliver the world’s first “superphone” powered by a Tegra 4 processor. The company hasn’t revealed much about the handset yet, but we do know it’ll have 4G LTE connectivity, and that it will make its debut in China this summer.

So the Consumer Electronics Show is over for another year, and for those who’ve been in Las Vegas covering it for us, it’s back to normality. While we allow the Cult of Mac team to sober up, it’s time to look back at the best gizmos CES had to offer. There were thousands of products on show — far too many to cover in one week — but there were a handful that really stood out.
