Itching to get Android 4.4 KitKat on your Galaxy S4? Of course you are. Unfortunately, it could be a while yet before Samsung’s final release is available to the public, but if you don’t mind living life on the edge and taking a few risks, then you can install a test version of the software right now.

Google-Play-services

Google has started rolling out a new update (v4.1) for Google Play Services that brings with it a lot of new goodies for developers to play around with. This includes a new turn-based multiplayer API, preliminary Google Drive integration and more.

Google had announced Play Services back at Google I/O last year, which allows it to bring a host of new features to Android devices without pushing out an update for the OS itself.

AT&T is currently pushing out a minor over-the-air update to all its carrier-branded Optimus G devices located in the United States. Sadly, this upgrade doesn’t bring any major software developments, such as Android 4.2.2, let alone 4.4, but it does include a couple of much requested stability improvements, one of which allows users to take still photos using the front and rear camera at the same time.
