Your Android-powered devices could be watching your every move — and you may not know a thing about it.
New research has revealed that Android applications have the ability to quietly take photos and videos in the background and then send them on to others without alerting the user. The discovery could open the door to a new kind of Android malware that doesn’t try to steal your money or your personal data, but instead spies on you as you use your mobile devices.
When Motorola this week kicked off a new competition that gave participants the chance to win a Moto 360 smartwatch, the company mentioned in its terms and conditions that its gorgeous new wearable’s “approximate retail value” is $249.
That’s not a bad price for what is shaping up to be by far the best smartwatch yet, but before you get your hopes up too much, you should know that Motorola is now debunking reports that suggest this will be the device’s actual retail price.

Last year’s Galaxy S4 Active was marketed by Samsung as a waterproof version of the original Galaxy S4 — but there were a number of subtle differences between the two internally. Buying the Active meant you had to settle for a lesser camera — 8-megapixels versus 13-megapixels — and a TFT display over a Super AMOLED one.
There are going to be some hardware differences between these variants this time around as well, it seems — but for 2014, the Galaxy S5 Active has the advantage over the original Galaxy S5. In addition to a barometer, the device has a customizable “Active Key” and what appears to be optical image stabilization.
LG has announced its first official accessory for the G3, its upcoming flagship smartphone of 2014, which is expected to break cover next Tuesday, May 27. The add-on, dubbed the ‘QuickCircle’ case, is pretty similar to Samsung’s S-View case, giving users easy access to information whilst their device is locked and protected.
