Okay, this next one comes from a Korean site and claims that LG is prepping a competitor to the yet-to-be-announced Samsung Galaxy S III. While I always have trouble deducing what exactly is going on in a translation, I’m thinking these are the claims of the author and not LG. So what we basically have here is a rumored device to compete with another rumored device. If you’re interested in comparing rumored specs against the specs of well… rumor, then by all means check out the LG D1L.

Oh no, whatever will we do? Turns out HTC’s $300 million dollar investment in Beats Audio isn’t quite paying off. Apparently people don’t really care about Beats (they could have hired me for a hell of a lot less than $3 million and I would have told them that) and even worse — people don’t choose smartphones based on headphones (who would of thought). I know you’re sad to see them go but in the famous words of the King of Pop: “Just beat it.”

Android engineers have finally put an end to developer’s woes over the sluggish moving Android emulator. In an Android developers blog post today, they have announced a new and improved Android emulator equipped with added GPU support, more hardware feature emulation, and improved CPU performance. This should put a smile on many o’ developers’ faces and make building and testing apps a tad less stressful.

I’ve held out on this one for a bit now but I’m going to show you guys how to enable the hotspot feature on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus without any funky tweaks or root. I felt it was necessary to share this considering it’s the number one feature I use on my phone and I’d be lost without it. Unfortunately this is something your carrier certainly does not condone and you will be doing this at your own risk (sounds scary but it isn’t).

Facebook just announced on its blog that the company has purchased the popular photo sharing app Instagram for a cool $1 billion. The news comes shortly after Instagram just launched its popular Android app, which has seen great success.

But the real success of Instagram is over on iOS, where the app has exploded to be one of the top apps on the iTunes App Store. Before its release on Android, Instagram boasted over 30 million users and added 1 million the day Instagram launched on Android.  Check out Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerburg’s announcement:
