LG is known for being a little slow when it comes to issuing Android updates, but fortunately for three of the devices in its 2012 Optimus lineup, Jelly Bean is on its way. The Korean company has confirmed on its LG Hong Kong Facebook page that the Optimux 4X HD, the Optimus L7, and the Optimus L9 will all get Android 4.2 “in the first half” of 2013.

Woz loves Android even though he co-founded Apple

Steve Wozniak says the darnest things. Even though he’s the co-founder of Apple, and was one of Steve Jobs’ best friends, he’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind when he’s thinking something negative about Apple.

In a recent interview with the German newspaper Wirtschafts Woche, Woz says that even though Apple’s fans are very loyal, the iPhone is starting to fall behind the competition.

Not to over hype things, but the upcoming Galaxy S4 might be the best Android smartphone we’ve ever seen. Samsung’s been making some steady improvements to the Galaxy S line, so we’re expecting great things from their next flagship handset.

Supporting the rumors that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S4 in March, a new report is claiming that Samsung will start producing displays for the device later this month.

Some companies have started shunning trade shows like the Consumer Electronics Show and Mobile World Congress when it comes to announcing their next big thing. Samsung’s biggest Galaxy devices, for example, now get their own press events. But it seems LG isn’t one of them.

The company has released a new video teasing a “breakthrough” at MWC later this month, sparking speculation it has something special up its sleeve.

Sprint has today announced its fourth quarter and full year financial results for 2012, and they don’t make for pleasant reading. Despite healthy smartphone sales driven by the iPhone, the carrier reported a loss of $1.3 billion for during the three-month period, which is the same figure it lost during Q4 2011. It also saw more than 1 million Nextel subscribers jumping ship.
