This weeks Google Play app focus, enables you to download a free e-book from the Play Books Store, providing users with a great tool to learn the basics of “Android Photography” completely free of charge.

LG has announced a new 5.2-inch LCD screen that the company claims holds the title of the world’s slimmest full HD smartphone display. Measuring in at an amazing 2.2mm’s thick combined with an ultra-slim 2.3mm bezel, your smartphone will be able to have a perfect sized screen with a little less bulk.

Curious to see what the next version of iOS will be like but don’t have an iPhone? Now there’s an app on Google Play called Control Center that brings the iOS 7 Control Center user experience to Android phones.

The app functions pretty much identical to the Control Center found on iOS 7 except it’s more customizable. Swipe up from the bottom of your device and you get quick access to toggles for Wifi, Bluetooth, volume, a flash light, camera, and a couple of other basic functions.

The download is free in Google Play right now so if you’ve been eyeing some of the new iOS 7 features, here’s how to get one of them with out having to spend a cent on a new iPhone.

Google’s second-generation Nexus 7 could be just weeks away with supply chain sources claiming it’ll launch in late July or early August. Like the current Nexus 7, the new model will reportedly be built by Asus, and it’ll feature much-improved specifications, including a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a Snapdragon 600 processor.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE has finally launched in Canada and will be available to purchase on-contract through three different Canadian carriers TELUS, Rogers and Bell, all of which offer 4G LTE data connectivity.
