Kids love smartphones and tablets — especially if they’re loaded with games and videos. But it’s thought spending too much time too close to a screen can cause computer vision syndrome, abd even lasting damage to young eyes.

Samsung wants to prevent this with a new Android app called Safety Screen, which displays a large popup that gets in the way of the content whenever your child moves their device too close to their face.

In its Android Security 2015 Annual Report, the company reveals that it now scans more than 6 billion installed apps across 400 million devices every single day for malware.

Popular cross-platform messaging service Viber has announced that it will follow Apple’s example by embracing user privacy through the introduction of end-to-end encryption.

Viber revealed today that it will start rolling this out for all of its one-to-one and group conversations, whether that be video, voice, or text messages. According to a spokesperson for the company, the encryption update will be available to users worldwide within “several weeks,” although an exact date isn’t specified.

Counter-Strike 1.6, the game that redefined the multiplayer FPS genre, has been ported to Android in all its glory.

Players will find all the features they would expect to see if they loaded the game up on a PC, including online multiplayer with the ability to search and connect to servers.
