MoDaCo-SWITCH-HTC-One

Now that Google Play edition ROMs are available for the HTC One, you can choose whether you want the stock Android experience free from third-party tweaks, or whether you want to stick with all the features that come with Sense 5, such as BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe.

But how do you decide? Both options have their advantages and disadvantages, and choosing one over the other can be tricky. Fortunately, you no longer have to, thanks to MoDaCo.SWITCH.

MoDaCo.SWITCH is a new tweak from MoDaCo that installs both HTC’s version of Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 and all the wonderful features that comes with it, and Google’s stock Android 4.2.2 ROM on your HTC One. It then lets you quickly switch between them on the fly.

Android 4.3 isn’t exactly Google’s most exciting update to date — most of its changes take place under the hood — but it does come with a snazzy new wallpaper that you will have seen in all of the promotional shots for the new Nexus 7.

You don’t need to wait for the Android 4.3 update to arrive to get that, however. You can download it here right now.

Sony has today revealed its Android 4.3 upgrade plans for Xperia smartphones and tablets. It’s good news if you own an Xperia Z or one of its many variants, as well as the Xperia SP — all of which will get Android 4.3 at some point. Sony also says it is looking at “uplifting some of our other devices running 4.1 direct to 4.3.”

Both retailers are advertising a September 13 release date, which is around six weeks after the tablet is made available in the U.S.
