In a move that’s sure to upset some third-party app developers, Microsoft is planning to launch official Remote Desktop apps for Android and iOS later this month. Like the Remote Desktop solutions for Windows and OS X, the apps will allow you to connect to your PC and control it remotely from your smartphone and tablet.

You may already be aware that the Samsung Galaxy Gear is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but what you may not know is that it is actually capable of running regular Android apps — not just those specifically built for Galaxy Gear. It can even run Android launchers like Nova — as you can see in the picture above.

The wait is finally over for U.S. Cellular customers. The carrier has announced that it is now officially offering Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone of 2013, the Galaxy Note III, together with its companion device, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, on its website or in any of its stores nationwide.

Despite an abundance of high-end specifications that include a 1080p display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Google’s new Nexus 5 could start at just $299. That’s according to one tipster, who claims the device will be available in 16GB and 32GB variants, each of which will have a different battery capacity.
