BlackBerry rolled out the first public update for its official BBM application on the Google Play Store last night, bumping the version up to 1.0.0.72. The upgrade brings a multitude of bug fixes and stability improvements, in addition to support for a mass of additional Android-powered devices.

Android 4.4 KitKat will finally make its much-anticipated debut today, according to tweets and Facebook posts from the team behind GO Launcher. Recent reports have suggested that Google has delayed the release until November, but whoever’s controlling GO Launcher’s social feeds says they’ve had an official Google invitation that says different.

Samsung has been fined $340,000 by Taiwan’s Fair Trade Commission for an Internet campaign against HTC that violated fair trade rules. The South Korean company paid students to praise its own smartphones in online reviews while slamming those of rival HTC.

HTC-One-software-updates

HTC has today begun rolling out its Android 4.3 update with Sense 5.5 to the international HTC One. The update, which weighs in at 675.48MB and comes with build number “3.62.401.1,” makes a whole host of improvements and enhancements, and addresses various bugs.

T-Mobile-Store

As part of its Un-carrier 3.0 initiative, starting Friday, 1 November, 2013, T-Mobile U.S. will be giving 200MB of free LTE data to all its slate users. Every 30 days, the promotions team over at T-Mobile will automatically credit each registered users account with 200MB of complimentary LTE data, which can be used on any Android-powered tablet with a SIM slot.
