Google today published a bunch of new ads for Android Wear, showcasing features like voice search, traffic information, and the ability to send text messages from your wrist. This is the search giant’s first big marketing push for the Android Wear platform since it made its public debut back in June.

Motorola has just begun issuing invites for a “Moto Launch Experience” in Chicago on September 4, where the company is expected to finally launch the much-anticipated Moto 360, and launch new devices. Its animated invite all but confirms two new smartphones, plus some kind of headset.

Researchers in the U.K. have developed a cellphone that is charged by ambient sound, eliminating the need for a charger. Filled with energy-harvesting “nanogenerators,” the device uses a principal called the piezoelectric effect to turn the sound vibrations in the atmosphere around it into energy.

Galaxy-Note-4-retail

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 is still a few weeks away from its official unveiling, but one retailer has already begun taking pre-orders for the device. Indonesian retailer Eraphone has also revealed the handset’s complete specifications sheet, which includes a Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 805 processor, and 4GB of RAM.
