The latest Android distribution numbers are out, reminding us why we prefer Nexus devices. Although the number of Android 4.0 devices nearly doubled since last month, they remain embarrassing low. It’s been six months since Ice Cream Sandwich melted its way into our hearts yet only 4.9% of Android devices accessing the Google Play Store were running it.

Those are absolutely amazing numbers for the once iOS exclusive photography sharing app that now boasts over 50 million total users thanks to its recent launch on Android. With numbers like this, it’s no wonder Facebook reached deep in their pockets to snatch them up.

It appears some Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners are being treated to an Android 4.0.4 IMM76K update today. While there’s been no official announcement of the update, it is indeed rolling out as Droid-Life users have been sending in screenshots to back up their claims (even a Verizon store unit was spotted rocking the update). I’ve been checking all day but to no avail.

The projected May release of Cognovant’s health record management app, PocketHealth, looks to become a reality thanks to a recent $500,000 seed round closing. The announcement was made today by Cognovant, the Kansas City, Mo.-based startup that specializes in personal health record technology for mobile devices.

“This seed round of funding enabled development of PocketHealth and its forthcoming introduction into the Android and iOS markets,” Ketcherside said in the release
