Developers love getting their hands on a kernel source code, mainly because it allows them to develop some great new custom ROMs with awesome features that we don’t usually get as standard on our devices. As of today, the official Android 4.4 kernel files for the T-Mobile branded Galaxy Note 3 are available to download directly from Samsung’s Open Source Release Center.

Following a successful launch in India earlier this week, Samsung has announced that the scaled-down variant of its flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, is now available to purchase in its home market. However, unlike the other Neo variants, this Korean exclusive model sports the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset.

Motorola pushes out a fairly minor update for its very popular Active Display application. Sadly, the app is a Motorola exclusive and is currently only available to download on the Droid, Ultra, Mini, Maxx and Moto X, though, recent rumors suggest that the Google-owned company will expand compatibility to some of its other smartphones in the not-too-distant future.

Verizon Wireless, has announced that it is now offering customers an opportunity to grab a fully-customizable Moto X for just a penny on any of its 2 year contracts. Alternatively, if you don’t feel like being locked into a lengthy agreement, you could always pick one up on a prepaid tariff for the marked down price of $329.99.

KitKat 10

Yesterday, popular French carrier, SFR, posted the official update documents of its first major upgrade for LG’s G2 and Sony’s Xperia range of smartphones, including the Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra .The paperwork reveals that the update is scheduled to bring the most recent build of KitKat (4.4.2), in addition to a multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.
