HTC’s flagship One A9 will launch with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow software and Sense 7 pre-installed, according to one trusted leaker.

This is good news for those who were planning to buy the rumored iPhone clone, but it suggests we’ll be waiting a little longer for it than we first anticipated.

“Hima_Aero will run Android 6.0 and Sense 7 GP on the launch,” tweeted reliable HTC leaked @LlabTooFer, who also suggests that the One A9 won’t be the only model in the “Hima” range, with possible “Ultra” and “Ace” devices to follow later.

If the One A9 is to launch with Marshmallow, that means it isn’t going to be here before Google’s new update rolls out to the public. We still don’t know exactly when that will happen — we should find out on September 29 — but we expect it to arrive sometime next month.

Of course, HTC may be working on its Marshmallow software already, but according to @LlabTooFer, we’ll be waiting until October or November to get it on the One A9.

Leaked images of HTC’s new device suggest it will look almost identical to the iPhone 6. HTC is hoping that this design, coupled with high-end specifications, will give its smartphone business a much-needed sales boost.
