If you’ve been tapping that update button on your Galaxy S III or Galaxy S4 every day, eagerly anticipating the release of Google’s latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean release, then it’s time to give yourself a rest for a few weeks. Samsung confirmed at IFA this week that the update was indeed on its way — but it won’t be available until next month.

It’s always been safe to assume the Galaxy S4 would get Android 4.3 at some point — after all, it is Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2013 — and we’ve known for quite some time that the update will also be making its way to the older Galaxy S III, too. In fact, the Galaxy S III is expected to skip Android 4.2.2 and jump straight to the latest version.

But we didn’t know when Samsung would be making the updates available. Now we do, because the South Korean company confirmed at IFA this week that it will begin rolling them out next month.

While Android 4.3 isn’t drastically different to Android 4.2.2 on the surface, you’ll notice big changes on Samsung Galaxy smartphones. For the Galaxy S III, it will bring a whole host of new TouchWiz features — some of which first made their debut on the Galaxy S4 earlier this year.

And for the Galaxy S4, the update is also expected to bring support for the new Galaxy Gear smartwatch, breaking its initial exclusivity to the Galaxy Note 3.
