If dressing up as a ghost and going to a party doesn’t quite give you the fright you were hoping for on Halloween, how about staying in and scaring yourself silly with some of the most terrifying games you’ll ever play? As much as I love my PlayStation, I’ll be the first to admit there are plenty of problems with the PlayStation Network. Messaging friends, for instance, is nothing short of painful — particularly on a PS3. Fortunately, Sony finally gave us the ability to chat via the official PlayStation App for Android and iOS.

And now that app finally supports notifications, meaning you’ll actually get an alert when you receive new messages and friend requests. You can also use photos saved on your phone as your profile picture, and send friend requests via SMS and email.

Sreambells

Streambells, one of the finest media streaming apps on Android, is now even better after receiving a new update that adds support for the Google Chromecast. It makes Streambells the first Android app to fully support all popular media streaming platforms — including Apple AirPlay and DLNA.

And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also love how easy it is to use, and the fact that it’s completely free.

iFruit-Android

iFruit, the GTA V companion app, is finally available to download on Android, more than a month after the game made its debut on consoles. The free app allows you to log into the Rockstar Games Social Club and customize cars in Los Santos Customs, interact with Chop the dog, and more.

Sony-Xperia-Z

The Sony Xperia Z may be struggling to compete with the Galaxy S4 in many markets, but in Japan, it’s a big seller, and its popularity has helped Sony’s smartphone sales grow. The Japanese company today revealed its fiscal Q1 2013 earnings, which include 9.6 million smartphone shipments — up from 7.4 million in Q1 2012.
