Google I/O doesn’t kick off for another two months, but Google won’t wait that long to drop its next-generation Android N upgrade.

Its first developer preview is out today for Nexus devices, and it comes packing a number of features swiped from iPad Pro and iOS, including split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture mode, and bundled app notifications.

Google Chrome for Android now allows you to restore tabs after they’ve been closed and stream videos from the web to your Chromecast, thanks to a new update that’s rolling out via Google Play this week. The release also adds support for fullscreen videos with subtitles and HTML5 controls, and the “multi-window” feature on some Android devices.

Since its inception, Android has had true multi-tasking allowing people to run multiple apps in the background without restricting their functionality. Back in the day, this was all one would have wanted from their Android device.

Samsung has today posted an official TV commercial featuring the new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear. The 30-second clip highlights the handset’s new faux leather backing, how its S Pen stylus can be used to “take action instantly,” and a number of TouchWiz features like AirCommand and Multi Window.

There’s also a brief glimpse at the Galaxy Note 3’s official Smart View case.
