Samsung’s upgrade plans for Android 6.0 have leaked out early, revealing when the company’s latest crop of smartphones and tablets can expect to receive Marshmallow.

The first device on its list is the Galaxy Note 5, which is scheduled to get its update next month — followed by the Galaxy S6 series in January. Unfortunately for those with a Galaxy Note 3 or a Galaxy S4, Lollipop was the end of the line.

A mobile security researcher has discovered a vulnerability in the Swift keyboard on Samsung’s Android devices that allows an attacker to remotely run malicious code. Over 600 million Galaxy handsets are said to be affected, including the company’s new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.

Galaxy S5 handsets on AT&T are finally getting Samsung’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop software, one day after the carrier brought Lollipop to 2013’s Galaxy S4.

If you prefer to take smartphone software upgrades into your own hands rather than wait for your carrier or manufacturer to bring them to you, then you’ll be delighted to hear that an leaked Android 5.0.1 Lollipop ROM is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The pre-release firmware works with several Galaxy S4 variants, and it includes everything you would expect from a Lollipop ROM — including Samsung’s latest TouchWiz interface.

The original Moto G Google Play Edition has now been dropped from the Play Store, leaving the HTC One M8 as the only Google Play Edition (GPE) device that’s still standing. The move comes four months after the second-generation Moto G first went on sale in the U.S., but it doesn’t look like Google has any plans to make the new model a GPE smartphone.
