Verizon Wireless has helped a critical infrastructure company based in the United States catch one of its developers paying Chinese workers to do his job so that he could browse the Internet all day. “Bob” outsourced all of his work to China and paid the workers just a fraction of his six-figure salary so that he could spend his time on sites like Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, and eBay.

Verizon has revealed the fascinating story in a new case study.

Pantech announced a brand new smartphone for AT&T earlier this week, and it appears the Korean manufacturer also has something up its sleeve for Verizon. The device you see pictured above is the Pantech Perception, and it’s set to make its debut this quarter. Like the Pantech Discovery for AT&T, we’re expecting a 720p display, a speedy dual-core processor, and indeed an attractive price tag.

A day after AT&T announced its “best-ever” quarter for smartphone sales, rival operator Verizon Wireless is doing exactly the same thing. The carrier has announced that it expects to have reached a record 9.8 million sales during the fourth quarter of 2012, and it’s attributing that success to the popularity of the iPhone.

T-Mobile USA will finally start selling the iPhone and enforce its plan to eliminate subsidies in “three to four months,” according to the company’s chief executive, John Legere. It will be the first time T-Mobile has offered in the iPhone in the United States since the handset was first released launched in 2007.

The Galaxy Note II “Developer Edition” for Verizon Wireless has appeared on Samsung’s website this morning. Like the Korean company’s other Developer Edition handsets, such as the Galaxy S III, this one comes with a bootloader that will be simple to unlock — unlike the regular Galaxy Note II. Unfortunately, it still has that nasty Verizon logo on its home button.
