Droid Incredible 4G

Who remembers HTC’s Droid Incredible 4G LTE? Well, Verizon finally has. The operator has at last posted the official update documents for its first major maintenance upgrade in just under two years. The paperwork reveals that update version 2.19.605.2710RD is scheduled to bring some new applications, as well as a truckload of stability improvements, security patches, bug fixes and speed optimizations.

EVO 4G LTE

Unfortunately, HTC was unable to meet its initial goal of updating the Evo 4G LTE by the end of 2013, leaving many of us disappointed. But, today, Jason Mackenzie, President of HTC America, officially revealed on Twitter that the update will be pushed to Sprint for review in “mid-January” and is expected to reach our devices by way of an over-the-air (OTA) update sometime in February.

Knock

LG has today announced, that due to popular demand it has now decided to make its Knock feature, which debuted on the G2 back in August, a standard addition to all L Series II smartphones. For those unaware, this “convenient” function allows its users to lock and unlock their handsets by simply double tapping on the screen of their device.

A couple of  days ago, I wrote that Verizon had posted the official upgrade documents for an upcoming maintenance update for LG’s G2 on its website, and now tons of reports have emerged confirming that Big Red branded handsets have indeed, already started to receive the update.

Android 4.3 Note II

Verizon has at last started rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean over-the-air (OTA) update to all its carrier-branded Samsung Galaxy Note II handsets located in the United States. As you’d expect, this upgrade brings a mass of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations, however, it also incorporates an updated version of the TouchWiz user interface together with compatibility for the Galaxy Gear.
