HTC-One-logo-back

In a tweet published earlier today, HTC U.S.A revealed that the much-anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat update for all Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile branded handsets of its flagship smartphone, the One, has just entered carrier labs for final testing, and we should be seeing certification as early as next week (certification is the third of four necessary stages involved in pushing out an OTA). So, hopefully, presuming no problems are detected, we only have a couple more days until the over-the-air upgrade starts arriving on our devices.

Dropbox received a minor but longly-awaited stability update in the Google Play Store today. In terms of functionality, this upgrade doesn’t bring much, but it does bring tons of stability improvements speed optimizations and bug fixes, including a fix for the maddening issue which caused the camera auto-upload feature to malfunction.

KitKat 10

Samsung is now rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to all Eastern European models of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3, in Poland and Russia. This upgrade, build number KOT49H, is a fairly major bump up from 4.3 Jelly Bean, and brings a mass of new functionality, together with the usual multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

HTC One X+

Following the Taiwanese manufacturers announcement on Twitter last week, AT&T is now rolling out the final update to HTC’s former flagship smartphone of 2012, the One X+. This upgrade, software version 2.15.502.1, brings the latest build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5.0 to the handset, in addition to the usual multitude of bug fixes and stability improvements.

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been hearing quite a few rumors regarding an upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat update for Samsung’s former flagship smartphone of 2013, the Galaxy S4, now it looks as if the South Korean company has started internally testing the much-anticipated upgrade. However, according to an online publication the build is currently not stable enough to be used as a daily driver, so we will have to wait a little longer before the final version starts rolling out.
