HTC-One-M8-back

HTC is in the midst of pushing out its first major post-release update to all unlocked and carrier-branded variants of its current flagship smartphone, the One (M8), located in Europe. Weighing in at 66MB, this upgrade doesn’t bring much to the table in terms of added functionality, but it does include a handful of stability improvements all aimed at making a user’s experience better when using the handset.

Google Chrome for Android now allows you to restore tabs after they’ve been closed and stream videos from the web to your Chromecast, thanks to a new update that’s rolling out via Google Play this week. The release also adds support for fullscreen videos with subtitles and HTML5 controls, and the “multi-window” feature on some Android devices.

Custom launchers are immensely popular amongst the rapidly-growing Android community. They enable us to completely customize and personalize our smartphones and tablets. Previously, switching between them had always been a bit of a long and tedious task.

One of the alterations Google has now introduced in its most recent KitKat update is the ability for users to change their default launcher much more easily due to the newly-implemented menu, which is housed in the default settings application of every Android device.

Google’s next Android update will rollout to Nexus devices on Friday, May 23, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans. The new build, which will be labeled Android 4.4.3, will bring a plethora of bug fixes and improvements, and prepare the Android platform for the next generation of Nexus devices.

Google is currently in the process of quietly rolling out an update for its official Search application via the Play Store. Once updated, users will receive reminders when their bills are due, how much they need to pay, and, finally, how much they owe altogether.
