It’s no secret Sony Ericsson is hard at work preparing their 2011 Xperia portfolio for Android 4.0. Sony Ericsson has finally outlined its list of devices that will be receiving the Ice Cream sandwich upgrade along with a less vague timetable as to when these updates will begin. Starting late March/early April, SE will begin rolling out ICS to its first batch of devices with the rest being updated around late April/early May. Sony Ericsson also points out that not all devices of the same model will receive the updates at the same time due to carrier handling. Below is a complete list of SE devices set to receive the update and their expected update schedule.

The Firefox team has been hard at work trying to improve upon their mobile browser and release a version with an optimized tablet experience. They teased us back in August — showing off some Firefox magic on a Honeycomb tablet — and now, thanks to this latest update, they’ve given us the chance to experience it for ourselves.


Amazon released an update to the Kindle Fire bringing it to verision 6.2.1. The update includes a much needed performance boost among other things. While this is great news for most Kindle Fire owners, it also brings some disparaging news to those who have rooted their device. This update will indeed remove your root privileges, and unlike previous updates, you won’t be able to re-root the device using the SuperOneClick utility. Of course the majority of Kindle Fire users aren’t going to care about this, and while it’s a minor setback for the hacker community, I’m sure they’ll have a fix soon. Popular tower defense game Jelly Defense has received a nice holiday update to keep you in the spirit. Many of you were lucky enough to pick this game up when it was part of Google’s $.10 app deal so I’m sure you’ll certainly welcome the new additions. Earlier in the month Adobe updated its Flash Player to include support for Android 4.0 and while Adobe has already announced its discontinuation of the mobile Flash platform, it will continue supporting the AIR platform. Today Adobe updated their AIR application to also include support for Ice Cream Sandwich along with a few performance improvements and bug fixes. This update is a relief to many Galaxy Nexus owners as well as the many owners whose devices will be receiving the ICS update within the next couple of months.
