Last night, Verizon posted the official update documents for its first major upgrade for Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3, and now, less than 24 hours later, Big Red is in the process of pushing out this much-anticipated stability update (build JSS15J.N900VVRUBMJE) to all handsets located in the United States.

We may have laughed at the original Galaxy Note for its massive 5.3-inch display when Samsung first announced it back in 2011, but like the flagship Galaxy S series, it’s been a huge success. Now in its third generation, the device has sold over 10 million units in just two months.

Samsung unveiled its first 8-inch tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, back in June, 2013, and a month later the device was available to purchase in the U.K. from several retailers with a £279 price tag. However, if you haven’t had the opportunity or the wherewithal to pick one up before now, it may please you to you to know that the popular online retailer, Isme, is currently offering the device with an £80 discount.

It has taken T-Mobile some time to get its act together, but today the carrier finally began rolling out its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Note II. It weighs in at around 614MB, and you’ll be able to download it over-the-air or via Samsung’s KIES application for Mac and PC.

When you buy a midrange smartphone, your chances of getting a next-generation Android update are pretty slim. It may not be that your device isn’t capable of running the update, but manufacturers tend to focus on their high-end devices instead when rolling out new software, leaving the cheaper models out in the cold.

But if you own a midrange Samsung device, you could be in luck when it comes to Android 4.4 KitKat. A leaked Samsung document suggests the South Korean company is investigating the possibility of bringing Google’s latest Android release to devices like the Galaxy S4 mini, the Galaxy S III mini, and even the Galaxy Ace 3.
