Now that unlocking your phone is legal in the United States, carriers have no choice but to let you use your device with other service providers as soon as your contract is up. T-Mobile is preparing to make it super simple for you to do that by pre-installing an unlocking app on your device that will remove its shackles as soon as it is eligible.

Earlier today, an unannounced Samsung smartphone made a pitstop at the United States of America’s official certification authority — the FCC. Information included in the brief filing documentation reveals that we are probably looking at the upcoming Galaxy Alpha (SM-G850F) — a more powerful, durable and elegant model of the company’s flagship smartphone of 2014.

Lenovo-Vibe-Z2-Pro

Lenovo today announced the Vibe Z2 Pro, its first Quad HD smartphone that hopes to do battle with the likes of the LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A. Not only does it have an insanely sharp display, but it’s also packing a super speedy processor, a massive battery, and a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.

Samsung this week confirmed that it will hold a September 3 Unpacked event in Berlin, where it is expected that we’ll see the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 4. But just in case you had any doubts about the handset’s arrival, the South Korean company today sent out new invitations that all but confirm it.

Moto-36-charging

Motorola has been keeping the Moto 360’s charging method a secret since its first unveiling earlier this year, but new photos of the device reveal its unique wireless charging dock for the first time. Unlike the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, the Moto 360 doesn’t appear to have any external connectors on its back, and it’s a great bedside clock while it’s charging.
