Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are being released to the world this morning. If you’ve not had a chance to order your handset yet, or want to take a look at what you get for your money first, Cult of Mac has got you covered with our official unboxing video.

After day’s of running back and fourth with a well-known British mobile phone retailer, we’ve finally managed to get our hands on a gold 32gb S7 handset. Before we show you our thoughts on the latest Samsung, let’s take a look at what’s inside the box.

An unconfirmed Samsung smartphone has passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The information included in the brief filing documentation reveals that we could potentially be looking at the Galaxy Grand Lite — a scaled down variant to the Grand 2 that was introduced to the South Korean company’s lineup of affordable handsets last month.

Samsung is in the midst of pushing out a largely-requested firmware update for the U.S. version all of its Galaxy Gear smartwatch. This upgrade brings users the ability to activate “Expanded Notifications”, in addition to the usual deluge of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations that the South Korean company bundles into all of its maintenance updates.

Galaxy S Duos

Samsung released its relatively impressive compact entry-level Android-powered smartphone, the Galaxy S Duos, back in September, 2012, and since then has shown itself to be a big hit with people who don’t require the power that a flagship device has to offer, but still seek the software and functionality that it brings. At launch, the handset retailed for $314, but Amazon is currently selling the handset with a $143.74 discount (46%) — meaning you can now pick one up for $170.26.
