Facebook has just released a ‘Lite’ version of their app on the Google Play store that is meant to use less data and work on even slower mobile data networks. The app is aimed at low-end Android devices and targeted towards users in developing markets like Nepal and Bangladesh where 2G mobile data is still prevalent.

The day pure Android fans have been dreading is finally here; the last remaining Google Play Edition smartphone — the HTC One M8 — has been removed from the Play Store, almost certainly confirming the end of Google’s program. The only pure Android smartphones you can buy from the search giant now are its own Nexus handsets.
