In Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Google introduced a brand new Clock application with timer support. The application was a huge step up from the previous clock app, and looked classy. In comes Timely, a beautiful alarm clock application, from the developers of Tasks that completely blows the stock clock app in Android 4.2 out of the equation. 

The popular To Do and Task List application, Todoist in the Google Play Store, received a pretty hefty update earlier today. The upgrade brings a ton of new visuals, a much simpler way of adding tasks, a redesigned and more user-friendly left menu together with a new user interface for reminders, and lots more.

One of the best and most popular features on Motorola’s flagship smartphone, the Moto X, is its Active Display functionality which automatically displays important notifications on the lock screen without any user input. This attribute was a Moto X exclusive at launch, and in no time at all a replica was developed exclusively for Android 4.3 users, which has now been tweaked for a second time and is available to download on any Android 4.0+ device.

Google recently revamped its Maps application, and although it looked great, it was missing one substantial feature that had been included in every other version of the app to date – the beloved scale bar. Now the team at Mountain View HQ have pushed out an update on Google Play for Maps, bringing back the measurement bar which allows you to see distances on a map.

Google pushed out an update for its Translate app on Google Play yesterday, bringing handwriting support for both Hindi and Thai. The upgrade also expands the app’s built-in “camera input” feature capabilities.
