Android-Device-Manager-lock

Google’s official Android Device Manager application launched earlier today – not to be confused with the ADM Play Services feature which was released three months ago – and is available to download directly from the Google Play Store. This new app allows users of the service to remotely track, ring, lock, encrypt, or wipe their other devices, directly from their Android-powered smartphone or tablet.

Google is in the process of pushing out an update for its official Translate application, which can be downloaded directly from the Play Store. This upgrade doesn’t bring much in terms of new features, but it does bring support for an additional 9 languages — bumping the total number up to 80.

Google is currently rolling out an update for its official Google Play Books application, which comes pre-loaded on all Android devices. This upgrade doesn’t bring any drastic user interface changes, but there are some pretty impressive performance tweaks and new sharing features included.

A minor but very useful feature that Google has introduced in Android 4.4 KitKat is screen recording. While the feature can only be used via ADB on the stock KitKat ROM, it was only a matter of time before some custom ROMs and apps provided the same functionality to root users.

The CyanogenMod team, today, is releasing their Screencast app on the Play Store using the beta channel, which allows users to easily record the content on their device screen and as well as their voice via the microphone.

Today, Google officially updated its Play Store support page, to notify consumers that it will soon be launching its Google Play gift cards in Japan with ¥1500 ($15), ¥3,000 ($29), ¥5,000 ($49), ¥10,000 ($97), ¥15,000 ($146) and astonishingly ¥20,000 ($195) denominations.
