A minor but very useful feature that Google has introduced in Android 4.4 KitKat is screen recording. While the feature can only be used via ADB on the stock KitKat ROM, it was only a matter of time before some custom ROMs and apps provided the same functionality to root users.

The CyanogenMod team, today, is releasing their Screencast app on the Play Store using the beta channel, which allows users to easily record the content on their device screen and as well as their voice via the microphone.

The best part about the Screencast app from the CyanogenMod team is how easy it is to use. Once the app has been installed, users can start a screencast by pressing the Volume Up + Power button combo or by simply starting the app from their app drawer.

Below is a quick demo of the feature from the developer of the app himself — Koush -:

Sadly, the app is only available to CyanogenMod 11 nightly users. If you are one of them, make sure you are running the absolute latest nightly build available for your device.

To download the app, make sure to join this CyanogenMod community on Google+, followed by the beta channel of the app. It is only possible to download the app after joining the community and the beta program.
