Laaaaaaaaaaadies and Gentlemen, welcome to Friday Night Fights, a new series of weekly deathmatches between two no-mercy brawlers who will fight to the death — or at least agree to disagree — about which is better: Apple or Google, iOS or Android?

After this week’s topic, someone’s going to be spitting teeth. Our question: What’s the better music-in-the-cloud service? Google Music or iTunes Match?

In one corner, we have the 900 pound gorilla, Cult of Mac; in the opposite corner, wearing the green trunks, we have the plucky upstart, Cult of Android!

Place your bets, gentlemen! This is going be a bloody one.

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal reported that Google was developing a home-entertainment system that streams music wirelessly throughout the home and would be marketed under the company’s own brand. The first thing that came to mind was Google’s Project Tungsten from last year’s Google I/O.

Yesterday Motorola teased an update that will be coming to the MOTOACTV next month. The update, which is set to roll out on March 7th, will add 40 new activities to the MOTOACTV fitness tracker, some of which include: yoga, Pilates, dancing and martial arts. While Motorola says this is just the beginning, they managed to tease us with a few other features, including:


Some good news for Google Music lovers. Google has finally added some new features to the web interface as well as the Music Manager that now allows you to download all the music you’ve purchased or added to your library. Woot! I know many of you were waiting for this functionality and now it’s here.


Our favorite music-in-the-cloud service has received a pest control update. Nothing major has been included but they have fixed a couple nasty bugs. These fixes are related to shuffle mode and multiple accounts. If you’ve been having issues with either of these functions, you should be all patched up and ready to go.
