Could you be persuaded to give up your iPhone and switch to Android if you were given a really simple tool to transfer all of your important data? Motorola is certainly hoping so with its new web-based migration tool that takes all of your contacts and calendar events from iCloud and puts them on a Moto X.

Motorola DVX Moto X

A bunch of rumors have been bandied around over the course of the past two months, suggesting that Motorola is in the process of developing a new budget friendly, low-end Moto X variant, dubbed the DVX. Up until now, we’ve heard a few whispers with regards to the internals of this handset, but little else, thanks to a very well-known Chinese “leaker”, we now know a little bit more about the device.

Droid ZAP

Motorola is in the process of rolling out an update for its official DROID Zap application on Google Play. According to the changelog, the upgrade now allows all DROID devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to send Zaps to other phones. Prior to the rollout, only Motorola’s flagship handsets, the DROID Ultra, Mini and MAXX, could Zap photos to each other.

While the iPhone’s Retina display may no longer be king when it comes to pixel count, it’s one of the fastest smartphone displays on the market, easily outpacing all of its rivals.

According to a TouchMark test carried out by Agawi, the Retina display responds more than twice as fast as any of its rivals — including the Galaxy S4 and other high-end Android devices — even on the three-year-old iPhone 4.

Moto-x-green

Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside has confirmed that the company is working on a new tablet that could be built at its manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas, where it already produces the Moto X. The device may have other things in common with the Moto X, too, including its unique customization features.
