Sony has reportedly teamed up with Garmin to develop a new navigation app for the SmartWatch 2, and it’s expected to get its unveiling at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. The app will provide users with turn-by-turn directions on their wrist, negating the need to walk around with their smartphone out.

HTC is expected to give carriers a “sneak peak” at a brand new smartwatch powered by Google Now at Mobile World Congress next week, according to “a person with direct knowledge of the plans” who has been speaking to Bloomberg. The prototype device is said to be the first of three new wearables from the Taiwanese company.

Earlier today, Acer announced the addition of two new Android-powered mid-range handsets, the Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4, to its rapidly growing lineup of Liquid-branded devices. This announcement comes just days before the Mobile World Congress, which is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, on Monday, February 24, and, as you would expect, both devices will be on display for us to play around with.

Samsung’s second-generation Galaxy Gear smartwatch could be powered by its own Tizen operating system rather than Android, according to “three people familiar with the situation,” who have been speaking to USA Today. The move is said to be part of Samsung’s plan to “develop more of its own software and services.”

LG-G2-mini

LG has today announced the new G2 mini, a slightly smaller version of its flagship G2 that is scheduled to get its official launch at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. The handset sports a 4.7-inch qHD display — that’s half an inch smaller than the original G2’s — coupled with midrange specifications.
