Optimus G Pro

Two of the most popular Korean operators, SKT and LG U+, are in the midst of pushing out an unexpected over-the-air (OTA) update to all Optimus G Pro handsets located in South Korea. In terms of functionality, the upgrade brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 5.5 to the device, complete with the usual plethora of bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements that we’ve grown to expect from any major software update.

Gear 2

A new rumor claims that the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch could soon receive a refresh in South Korea with cellular connectivity on board. This would make the Gear 2 a standalone smartphone rather than a companion accessory. It is said that local carrier SK Telecom will be the first to bring this modified variant of the Gear 2.

LG officially introduces us to its latest affordable mid-range Android-powered smartphone, the L90. Unfortunately, the South Korean company did not provide any information with regards to pricing and availability, but a recent leak suggests that the handset will be heading to Asia and Europe in just under a month with dual-SIM capabilities.

Note 3 Neo Scale

Following a successful launch in India earlier this week, Samsung has announced that the scaled-down variant of its flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, is now available to purchase in its home market. However, unlike the other Neo variants, this Korean exclusive model sports the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset.

LG Korea has officially unveiled the much-anticipated G Pro 2, the upscaled successor to its previous flagship smartphone of 2013. Unfortunately, the South Korean company did not provide us with an official launch date for the 5.9-inch phablet, but it did hint that it will be on display at this year’s Mobile World Congress, which is scheduled to take place in just eleven days time on Monday, February 24, 2014, in Barcelona, Spain.
