HTC has begun rolling out its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with Sense 5.5 to the original Butterfly, just over a month after it arrived on the more recent Butterfly S. The update weighs in at just over 500MB, and it brings a whole host of new features and improvements, including the ability to disable BlinkFeed.

HTC has begun rolling out its Android 4.4 KitKat update to One handsets across Europe. The 308MB release adds a number of new features, including support for the Cloud Print service and Bluetooth profiles, and improves security. It also kills HTC’s own web browser and support for Adobe Flash in favor of Chrome.

According to a tweet published earlier today, HTC hopes to start pushing out the final update to AT&T-branded models of its former flagship smartphone, the One X, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29. This upgrade is scheduled to bring the latest build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5.0 to the handset, in addition to the usual multitude of bug fixes and stability improvements.

Android 4.4 Canada HTC One Status

This weekend, HTC Canada updated its webpage with some pretty exiting news for on-contract HTC One owners who are champing at the bit to get the much-anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat software version on their handsets. As of today, Bell, Roger (who are also working to certify the latest upgrade for the One mini), TELUS, Virgin Mobile, Wind and SaskTel are all working around the clock to certify the latest upgrade. So, presuming no problems are detected, we only have a couple more days to wait for the rollout to begin.

In a tweet published earlier today, HTC U.S.A revealed that the much-anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat update for all Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile branded handsets of its flagship smartphone, the One, has just entered carrier labs for final testing, and we should be seeing certification as early as next week (certification is the third of four necessary stages involved in pushing out an OTA). So, hopefully, presuming no problems are detected, we only have a couple more days until the over-the-air upgrade starts arriving on our devices.
